Since joining Williams in 2022, after losing his drive with Red Bull and spent the year as a test and reserve driver, Albon has shown impressive performances and dedication both on an off the circuit.

The Thai-Briton drivers’ performances since he joined ahead of the 2022 campaign has been integral to the famous F1 team’s progress and success and his efforts helped contribute to the Grove based-squad’s best championship finishing position of seventh last season and netting 27 points of the team’s 28.

The extended partnership showcases Williams Racing’s commitment to build a competitive team capable to challenge for podiums and championships in the sport.

“I am incredibly happy to be remaining with Williams Racing and to continue working with such a talented and dedicated team of people,” Albon commented.  “It has been a difficult start to the year but since joining Williams we have made significant progress together and I have seen the huge changes happening behind the scenes to take us back to the front of the grid. This is a long-term project that I really believe in and want to play a key role in which is why I have signed a multi-year contract. The journey will take time but I am confident we are building the right team to move forward and achieve great things in the years to come.” Albon concluded. Albon is yet to score a championship point this season, sitting 17th in the World Driver’s Championship standings with both Williams and Sauber yet to score points in the Constructor’s.

With Albon’s future locked in, attention will now focus as to who will partner the Thai-Briton driver with the team speaking to four or five drivers – as they weight up whether they’d like to continue with Logan Sargeant – the Grove based-outfit are seriously considering bringing in Mercedes junior and FIA Formula 2 driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

Meanwhile Williams have also been listed as the potential landing spot for Adrian Newey, Red Bull’s outgoing Chief Technical Officer, who secured his first World Driver’s and Constructor’s Championship with the team during it’s golden years of the early-mid 90’s.
