@alfaromeoracing unveil sweet #C39 race livery ahead of #F1 testing. @F1
Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN F1 Team unleashed it’s 2020 challenger, the C39, before winter testing began at the Circuit De Barcelona-Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.
After following tradition and unleashing it’s special Valentines Day one-off C39 livery at Ferrari’s owned Fiorano Circuit on Friday, the reveal of it’s race livery completes the grid, with Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN being the final team to launch it’s contender for the season.
Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi along with test drivers Robert Kubica and Tatiana Calderon, pulled the covers off the Ferrari-powered C39 racer during a presentation in pit-lane at the Circuit De Barcelona-Catalunya.
The livery was developed in close co-operation with the Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, which features the iconic red of Alfa Romeo, with scarlet stripes now running all the way towards the front of the chassis.
ORLEN logos are adorn on the C39, and on other locations, the sidepods and rear wing.
Overall it’s striking design pays tribute to the Sauber Motorsport tradition – on the 50th anniversary of the team’s foundation and to it’s team sponsors.
The Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN C39, designed and developed under the coordination of Technical Director Jan Monchaux, it has a resemblance to it’s C38 predecessor; with it’s concept completely new and aimed at helping build the Hinwil-based outfit’s strong steps it has made in the last two campaigns and continue its progress towards the front of the field.
The focus for the team is now on these crucial two weeks of pre-season testing, with just six days of running until the season-opening Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2020 on the streets of Albert Park in Melbourne, Victoria.
Every hour of mileage in Barcelona will be the key of extracting the potential of the C39 racer.
“The C39 is the product of the hard work and vision of a large group of highly committed individuals and it’s testament to the quality of everyone in our team,” Explained Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN Team Principal Federic Vasseur. “We hope it will help us move the team forward and achieve our objectives.”
“Our target hasn’t changed: we want to do a better job tomorrow than we did today. We are a growing team and still have to improve in every single area and every single department of the company. This is an open-ended project, there is no finish line – everyone has to be fully focused and dedicated. We are moving forward, we already did a huge step compared to where we were at the beginning of 2018 but we have to continue on this path.” Vasseur concluded. Credit to Sauber Group for the quote.
