In what looks to be a Valentines Day tradition, Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN revealed a stunning snake-skin testing livery on it’s new 2020 contender, the C39 in a shakedown at Ferrari’s Fiorano Circuit in Maranello, Italy.

On the same day as World Champions Mercedes revealed their new challenger, the F1 W11 EQ Power+, Alfa Romeo released their slithering C39 racer at Ferrari’s Fiorano Circuit in Maranello, Italy.

Kimi Raikkonen took to the track in his new office whilst team-mate Antonio Giovinazzi and reserve driver Robert Kubica watched on, as the Finn completed 33 laps during the filming day, which teams are only allowed to run 100 kilometres.

The exotic black and dark grey snakeskin livery with the heart-shaped Alfa Romeo logo on the engine cover, is not expected to be used for the 2020 season, with team tweeting: “a snake goes through different skins before it reveals its final look”.

On Valentines Day last year, Raikkonen also took the Fiorano Circuit in a similar shakedown in a one-off special livery-themed C38.

The Hinwil-based squad will officially reveal their new car, which Raikkonen and Giovinazzi will pilot in the 2020 FIA Formula 1 World Championship season, on Wednesday morning February 19 when the sport’s pre-season testing gets underway.
