@ScuderiaFerrari unleash it’s spectacular looking 2022 challenger the F1-75. #F1 #F175
Scuderia Ferrari have unveiled their latest Formula 1 car that will tackle the sport’s new radical technical regulations, the stunning F1-75 in a digital launch at the team’s headquarters in Maranello.
Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, who finished in last year’s World Driver’s Championship standings in fifth and seventh places respectively, will team together once again.
The Prancing Horse fought back after their worst season for 40 years with a stronger campaign in 2021 that saw them finish third in the World Constructor’s Championship.
The F1-75 features a striking retro-inspired looking livery with a darker red with black wings based on the late 80’s and 90’s era.
Team Principal Mattia Binotto explained:
“This is an important day for us as we launch our car, the Ferrari F1-75. I must admit that personally, I’m excited about it, as this car is a product of the effort, dedication and passion of each one of us. It’s down to the work of a group of people who have invested everything in this car, working with courage, creativity and team spirit,”
“We have a good team of people here who have gone from strength to strength, investing all their skills in this project and I am proud of them. We have tackled the challenged of this project with an innovative approach, because, apart from the requirements of the completely new technical regulations, we believe that we had to take on this exercise with an open mind.” Binotto concluded. Sainz added looking ahead to the 2022 campaign:
“Yes, I’m more than ready for this season, 2021 was a great year for me because I managed to learn how the team works on the inside, to adapt to a new environment, but also mainly to learn about the Ferrari brand and how everything works from here and it was a great experience for me. Now it’s time to take the team to a different level, take it to a different step, and as drivers and the team together we want more things and more success in 2022 – so let’s go and get it.” Sainz concluded. Team-mate Leclerc said:
“I really, really like it. I think I’ll love it even more if it’s fast on track but I absolutely love the look. I think it fits perfectly. It’s a bit of a darker red. It looks a bit more aggressive but for a car like this, I think it fits perfectly.”
The Scuderia switched it’s attention to the 2022 regulations early, even introducing a hybrid system late last season, which was originally marked to be used for it’s debut this campaign, and performed solidly.
Ferrari were the seventh team to reveal their new car, World Champions Mercedes release their F1 W13 challenger today, with Alpine F1 Team following suit on Monday February 21.
The new cars will be unleashed in anger for the first time next week at the Circuit De Barcelona-Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain from Wednesday February 23-Friday February 25 for Formula 1’s first pre-season test.
