@HaasF1Team reveals it’s new challenger, the #VF24. #F1
Haas VF-24 launch – MoneyGram Haas F1 Team have unveiled it’s new contender, the VF-24, which will compete in the 2024 FIA Formula 1 World Championship season with drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen.
The Ferrari-powered VF-24 will make it’s circuit debut at Silverstone Circuit on Sunday February 11 with Hulkenberg undertaking shakedown duties before the Kannapolis-Banbury outfit travels to Bahrain for pre-season testing February 21-23.
Releasing a string of digital renders of it’s VF-24 racers across it’s MoneyGram Haas F1 Team’s social media platforms, the VF-24 design is an evolution of last season’s predecessor, the VF-23, which was a predominantly black livery with red and white accords.
Title partner MoneyGram features prominently on the engine cover and the front and rear wings – with Haas Automation – the global CNC machine tool company founded by team owner Gene Haas, maintaining it’s place on the car’s sidepods and rear wing. Haas Tooling, Palm Angels, Chipotle, Oakberry, Tricorp, TravisMathew, Alpinestars and Pirelli are all represented with their respective logos on the VF-24.
The 2024 campaign will also see Play’N’GO, the team’s existing partner, which is a global leader in supplying entertainment to the casino industry and creator of some of the world’s most played online casino games, increase its commitment to Haas. The multi-year alliance will see additional Play’N’GO branding across the VF-24, driver and team assets.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the VF-24 running and racing – a sentiment I know I share with our partners and indeed the entire team,” explained Chairman of MoneyGram Haas F1 Team Gene Haas. “In Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, we also know we’ve got a great pair of drivers behind the wheel, their experience will prove invaluable again as we develop our program through the year. We’ve used the off-season to put the processes in place to be better and ultimately improve our overall performance. Soon we get to see how we’re doing.” Haas concluded. This will be their first Formula 1 season without Guenther Steiner, with Ayao Komatsu taking his place after being promoted from his engineering role to the Team Principal position.
“We’re realistic about our expectations for the VF-24 to start but it’s still an exciting moment in any Formula 1 season to showcase the car,” added new MoneyGram Haas F1 Team Principal Ayao Komatsu. “There’s a lot of work ahead of us to make progress and increase our performance but everyone here is highly motivated and eager to get on track with the VF-24. I know we’ll be maximizing our time in Bahrain with all the various items we need to push through. Bottom line, we can’t wait to get going and get the season underway.” Komatsu concluded. The team’s driver line-up is stable with both Hulkenberg and Magnussen, as the duo will be aiming to improve on their last place in the World Constructor’s Championship standings.
Following the VF-24’s initial shakedown at Silverstone on February 11, a second shakedown will take place at the Bahrain International Circuit eight days later, before pre-season testing begins at the same venue on February 21, running for three days.
