It is the latest development in the driver market with BWT Alpine F1 Team earlier confirming that Pierre Gasly will remain with the French-Enstone alliance after agreeing to a multi-year deal.

Stroll’s renewal with Aston Martin was hinted ahead of last weekend’s Spanish GP that news of his future would be following “soon”.

Stroll made his Formula 1 debut in 2017 with Williams, spending two campaigns with the Grove based-squad before switching to Racing Point, which became Aston Martin in 2021 for following team’s purchase by a consortium lead by his father, Lawrence Stroll.

It means Aston Martin’s driver line-up will remain stable into a third season, with Stroll remaining alongside two-time World Driver’s Champion team-mate Fernando Alonso, who also recently signed his own contract extension.

Stroll stated: “I’m super happy to let you know that I’m extending my stay with Aston Martin Aramco and will be racing behind the wheel of an Aston Martin F1 car in 2025 and beyond. In the five years since I made this team my home, we’ve come so far and grown so much as a team and there’s still so much to look forward to. We’re on an incredible journey and I’m lucky to have so many great people around me – and that includes you! I want to say a huge thank you for all your unwavering support along the way, and I can’t wait to see where this ride takes us next. Let’s go! Stroll concluded. Credit to Aston Martin for the quote.

Aston Martin Team Principal Mike Krack commented: “We are delighted to confirm Lance’s future with Aston Martin Aramco. He has played a key role in building this team. His technical feedback, alongside his committed simulator work, has helped contribute to the continuous development of the car each season. The consistency and stability of both Lance and Fernando remaining with our team is a great platform to continue to realise our ambitions. We look forward to creating some more incredible memories and achieving further success together.” Krack concluded. Credit to Aston Martin for the quote.

The Canadian currently sits 11th in the World Driver’s Championship standings on 17 points.
