Although the race will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Bahrain remains the official promoter and title holder of the Grand Prix.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, welcomed the agreement, saying the partnership reflects Bahrain’s commitment to Formula 1 while recognizing the exceptional regional circumstances that made relocating the event necessary.
He expressed appreciation to Malaysia for hosting the race on Bahrain’s behalf and reaffirmed Bahrain’s long-term commitment to Formula 1.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim described Formula 1’s return to Sepang as a proud moment for the country.
