Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN have revealed their new challenger, the Ferrari-powered C41 that will compete in the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship season in a spectacular launch ceremony in Warsaw’s Grand Theatre, Poland.

The event saw attendance from a limited number of team personnel – with fans, media and team employees being invited to watch the launch on it’s online platforms.

Team drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi, along with reserve Robert Kubica entered the stage as the breathtaking C41 was unleashed.

The striking colour scheme is designed by Alfa Romeo’s Centro Stile and features the traditional red and white colours of the team.

The car is designed under the co-ordination of Technical Director, Jan Monchaux and represents an evolution of last season’s C39.

Due to the restrictions imposed by the regulations, the C41 carries many components of it’s predecessor, with the team focusing it’s development tokens on the nosecone.

Co-title partner ORLEN, features significantly on the bodywork, retaining it’s place on the side-pods, halo and rear wing.

The Alfa Romeo logo, featuring the Visconti snake-and-cross crest is flanked by the famous Quadrifoglio – four leaf clover – traditionally associated with the Italian marque’s racing efforts, and the logo Autodelta, is featured on the engine cover.

Alfa Romeo will be hoping it’s new contender, the C41, will see the team’s tides turn, after enduring a difficult 2020, which saw Raikkonen and Giovinazzi score only eight points between the pairing, as the team struggled to eighth place in the Constructors Championship.

A major part of this is, however, the performance of the new Ferrari 066 1.6L V6 Turbocharged Power-Train for the 2021 campaign, also to be run by Haas F1 Team, as well as the works Ferrari team themselves.

Alfa Romeo Team Principal and Sauber CEO Frederic Vasseur said:

“The launch of a new car is always an emotional moment, the culmination of months of effort from everyone back at the factory and the start of a new adventure. I think the philosophy upon which the team is based remains the same – we have to do a better job tomorrow than we are doing today. We finished last season in P8, so we have to target a better result in 2021. To do so, we have to keep improving in each department, trackside and back at HQ. Every team on the grid has very high expectations right now: all the teams expect to do a good job in the winter and to be in a good position for the first race, but soon it will be the time for everyone to show their cards.” Vasseur concluded. Having unveiled it’s challenger, the team’s focus now switches to the C41 racer’s shakedown at the Circuit De Barcelona-Catalunya on Friday, before travelling to the Middle East for Formula One’s pre-season test, which is to be held March 12-14 at the Bahrain International Circuit before the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix from March 26-28.
