Vasseur Ferrari Contract Extension – Scuderia Ferrari HP today announced a multi-year contract extension with Frederic Vasseur to remain as Team Principal for the coming seasons ahead.

The Frenchman joined the Maranello-marque from Sauber at the beginning of the 2023 campaign taking the place of Mattia Binotto, bringing with him solid motorsport experience and proven ability to develop talent and build competitive outfits across most categories of racing.
Since then, Vasseur has laid a solid foundation with the aim to help bring the Prancing Horse back to the top of Formula 1.
Vasseur’s first victory as Team Principal of the team came with Carlos Sainz at the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix – the only non-Red Bull win of the season.
Throughout last season, Vasseur went on to see further victories with the Scuderia in 2024 in Melbourne, Monaco, Austin and Mexico City – with the team finishing runner up in the World Constructor’s Championship standings to McLaren by 14 points.
The renewal of Vasseur’s contract reflects Ferrari’s ambition to build on the foundations laid so far with the Frenchman’s ability to lead the team under pressure, embracing innovation and pursuing performance aligns with the Maranello based-outfits values and long-term goals.
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna stated: “Today we want to recognise what has been built and commit to what still needs to be achieved. It reflects our trust in Fred’s leadership — a trust rooted in shared ambition, mutual expectations and clear responsibility. We move forward with determination and focus, united in our pursuit of the level of performance Ferrari has to aim for.” Vigna concluded. Credit to Ferrari for the quote.
Vasseur added: “I’m grateful for the trust Ferrari continues to place in me. This renewal is not just a confirmation — it’s a challenge to keep progressing, to stay focused, and to deliver. Over the past 30 months, we’ve laid strong foundations, and now we must build on them with consistency and determination. We know what’s expected, and we’re all fully committed to meeting those expectations and taking the next step forward together.” Vasseur concluded. Credit to Ferrari for the quote.
Ferrari are yet to score their first victory of the season. They currently sit second in the World Constructor’s Championship and 268 points behind McLaren.
Charles Leclerc and Sir Lewis Hamilton currently sit fifth and sixth respectively in the World Drivers’ Championship with the former on 139 points and the latter on 109 points as the Scuderia head to the Hungaroring this weekend for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
