@RenaultF1Team unveil the new #RS19. #F1
Renault F1 Team have released their new challenger, the R.S.19 that will contest the 2019 FIA Formula One World Championship season at the squad’s Enstone factory.
The Anglo-French outfit have a sharp driver pairing in Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg who pulled off the covers to their new machine whilst the renderings of the R.S.19 were released online.
Last year, Renault with their predecessor, the R.S.18, had their most successful season in Formula 1 since returning as a full-fledged works manufacturer in 2016, with Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz (who has departed to McLaren) comfortably taking the Enstone team to a solid fourth place and best of the rest in the Constructors Championship ahead of rivals Haas.
Renault’s engine boss Remi Taffin believes the Anglo-French based-outfit are in a strong position to have a great year ahead.
“These regulations are extremely complex.” explained Taffin. “We know them and understand them and had time to put in place a structure.”
“We have the structure and we have the people now. Eventually we can see the result of it.”
“We have worked hard on the ERS and worked a lot on the ICE [internal combustion engine]. In 2018 we have been introducing some new concepts that proved to be successful and we have taken some of them further down the road and into 2019.”
“The result is the best winter we have ever had.” Taffin concluded.
With Ricciardo’s switch from Red Bull, Renault will look to take that next step forward in it’s quest to make a charge to close down the gap to the big three in Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull as they chase to achieve their goal of fighting for both victories and championships in the 2020 or 2021 seasons.
