Antonelli posted the session-topping benchmark on the C5 softer tyres with a 1:12.720 and was 0.327 seconds clear of Leclerc whilst Hamilton was a further 0.331 adrift of the Italian in third.
Hamilton was the first to venture out on track with the C5 red side-walled softer compounds.
The Briton registered the initial benchmark of a 1:22.231, which was beaten by Botta’s 1:21.115 as Leclerc slotted into third with a 1:23.184.
RB’s Liam Lawson went quickest on a 1:17.223 with two purple sectors on the C5’s.
Hamilton on his proper flyer hit P1 with a 1:15.246 as his team-mate Leclerc went even faster on a 1:15.184 with two purple sectors one and three to end up 0.062 ahead.
Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso with three personal bests moved to fourth overall to be 1.770 seconds adrift of Leclerc’s benchmark.
Cadillac’s Valtteri Bottas reported smoke coming out of his MAC01 racer and returned to the pits.
On Norris’s issue from FP2 yesterday, McLaren stated: “Following Lando’s car stopping on track in FP2 yesterday, the team carried out extensive work ahead of FP3 this morning. To investigate and address the issue comprehensively, the team elected to break curfew last night and replace the wiring harness and also changed the ESME pack within the permitted allocation.”
Lawson improved to a 1:15.479 to be 0.295 off Leclerc’s best effort as Cadillac’s Sergio Perez reported fire from his left brake.
Norris was on his hot-lap and the reigning world champion slotted into seventh with a 1:19.040 as Hamilton charged to the top despite a poor sector three setting a 1:14.390 to be 0.728 in-front of Leclerc at the ninth-minute-mark of proceedings.

Hulkenberg with three personal best sectors jumped to fourth to end up 0.608 off Norris’s best time.
Verstappen was next and the Red Bull driver moved to third on a 1:14.509 as Hadjar slotted behind in fourth with a 1:14.793.
Mercedes’ Russell went straight to the head of the time-sheets posting a 1:13.902 to be 0.101 ahead of Hamilton who improved on his next flyer.
Norris improved but remained in third to be 0.272 off Russell as championship leader Antonelli went to fourth in the order with his 1:14.222 with three personal bests.
Home favourite Leclerc took top spot with a 1:13.748 to go 0.154 clear of Russell.
Antonelli followed on another hot-lap and with two purple sectors went to the top of the pile with a 1:13.374 to go 0.374 seconds clear of Leclerc at the 19th-minute-mark.
Hulkenberg with two personal bests jumped to sixth with his 1:14.459 as Piastri put his McLaren into fourth on a 1:13.945.
Red Bull’s Hadjar with three personal bests took seventh with a 1:14.404 as Russell moved to second fastest setting a 1:13.483.
Replays showed Alpine’s Pierre Gasly come close to brushing the wall on the exit of St. Devote.
Leclerc was next and the home favourite with a purple sector one and two personal bests returned to the top of the time-sheets with a 1:13.355 to be 0.019 clear of championship leader Antonelli.
Bortoleto went sixth overall with three personal bests to set a 1:14.129 as Antonelli took P1 back with a purple final sector to post a 1:13.137.
Russell on his next flyer remained in third despite a personal best sector three.
Piastri improved to take fourth with a 1:13.945 as Antonelli with a personal best sector one and a purple middle sector could not improve after a poor sector three and remained at the top.
Replays showed Antonelli have a moment bouncing over the kerb at the Nouvelle Chicane as Alpine’s Franco Colapinto suffer a spin at the Fairmont Hairpin and hit the wall with his rear wing.
Russell was next on his flyer and just avoided the barrier at La Rascasse after having a lock-up from seeing Williams’ Alexander Albon slowing down and had to abort his flyer.
Verstappen with a personal best sector three effort moved to fifth posting a 1:13.969 to wound up 0.832 off Antonelli’s best time.
The majority of the field just past end of the opening half hour returned to the pits to adjust their setups and prepare for another stint on the softer compounds.
Piastri improved to take fourth on a 1:13.698 to end up 0.561 adrift of Antonelli’s best effort.
Championship leader Antonelli returned on a new set of the C5’s followed by his team-mate Russell to begin another stint with 23 minutes remaining.
Antonelli on his fresh set of softs with two purples went even faster posting a 1:12.720 to be 0.635 seconds clear of Leclerc.
Leclerc on his next flying lap had to abandon it after encountering traffic at La Rascasse.
Hadjar on his hot-lap moved to fifth overall to end up 1.157 off Antonelli’s best effort as Russell aborted a second flying tour in a row after another error.
Bortoleto pushed his Audi to fifth with his 1:13.820 as Hamilton jumped to second on a 1:13.051 whilst Verstappen moved to fifth setting a 1:13.662.
Leclerc put his Ferrari to second with his 1:13.047 as the red flag was brought out with 14 minutes remaining after Haas’s Oliver Bearman hit the wall at Massenet.
The Briton damaged his rear wing and the left rear wheel.
Replays showed Bearman lose the rear out of Massenet after taking the wider line and hit the barrier and scattering debris all over the track.
Bearman said after his shunt: “Sorry guys, it’s the ***** bottoming. I’m so sorry.”
Bearman’s VF-26 racer was very swiftly cleared away – but the barriers were being inspected, hence why there was no resumption time at this stage, with the clock ticking down fast.
When the session resumed with four minutes remaining, Perez lead the pack out on the softer compounds.
The session ended with Antonelli in-front of both Leclerc and Hamilton.
Russell took fourth place ahead of Verstappen who was fifth and Piastri who ended FP3 sixth.
Bortoleto was the lead Audi in seventh and ahead of Hadjar who finished eighth in the classification.
Reigning world champion Norris and Hulkenberg completed the top ten.
